ReplyDeleteHi I'm irvin, I think that the "stop and frisk" is an effective way to deal with crime because it helps to prevent a lot of deaths and it helps by keeping those in danger out of harms way. I do agree that tyquan was stopped and frisked because he was black and because he was outside at night hanging with other people especially because of the place he lives in.

ReplyDeleteJuwan Chee On The Net Im Connected mannnn......I Do Agree that Tyquan was stopped and frisked because he was african american and because he was outside during the late hours Of the night also because of the area he lives in and the company that he kept but none the less it could have been a pure prejudice act ..however i do Agree that we as a citizens grant law enforcement a certain amount of authority to make decisions based on instinct to keep us safe & "protect & serve" as they claim theyre abiding motto is

ReplyDeleteI'm mostly for stop-and-frisk, although there are some bias cases. This is a policy designed for pubic safety, even if it infringes on our amendments. Would one not relinquish a right if it meant bettering the community? Albeit, it is obvious that there may be racial profiling, but if the targeted groups statistics weren't stacked against them, maybe they won't be approached as much.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to stop prejudice against a group/community you must make sure you're group/community improves upon themselves, and stops contributing to the negative stats....Yeah. -Kirsten Mckoy.
Peter lymberopoulos here. I just wanna say stop and frisk should not be allowed its avoiding our rights as a human being and as a citizen of the United States, although it can help with the crime rate the outcome of it is still a very low percentage so therefore they should rule it out.
ReplyDeleteLuis Barrera here. Stop and friak shouldn't be allowed but up to a certain extent of which can also prevent any form of danger to society and their self. But it can also help bring down the crime rate as of right now which has been the lowest in decades. Although it may be good for the community it also violates our rights to the 4th ammendment.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe that the "stop and frisk" program is effective for the most part because innocent people are being stopped just because of their skin color. Statistics show that 88% of people being stopped are colored. Stopping innocent people is just wasting time and letting a bad guy get away. The police should look into who they're stopping before acting so quick. I do agree with Tyquan that he was stopped and frisked because of his skin color. Tyquan was doing nothing wrong and didn't look suspicious. He was innocent and the police made up a lie that he was doing graffiti just to take Tyquan in. -Marium Javed

ReplyDeleteSingh comma Shaun. Stop-and-frisk is good in theory, but in practice is a mistake. Your rights get trampled upon, and it's hideously inefficient compared to other kinds of crime management i.e. using more street cameras.

ReplyDeleteHi I'm Aaron the "stop and frisk" is an effective way to deal with crime. There could be someone armed and dangerous putting innocent lives at risk. It's the police job to keep the citizens safe. I do agree with Tryquan because 83% of people that stopped were either black or Hispanic.
